What a start it’s been.
After months of hard work behind the scenes, it was a proud moment to finally welcome guests through the doors of The Bourne, and the response so far has been better than we could have ever imagined.
Before officially opening, we hosted an invite-only launch night where we had the chance to show everyone what The Bourne is all about. It was a brilliant evening filled with great food, flowing drinks and a real buzz throughout the restaurant.
We were also delighted to welcome the winner of our newsletter subscriber prize draw, who joined us to experience The Bourne before the doors officially opened.
Then came Good Friday, when we opened to the public for the very first time, and since then it’s been non-stop in the best possible way.

A Warm Welcome from Wombourne
From the moment bookings went live, demand was incredible, with our first three weekends filling quickly.
Since opening, the support from Wombourne and the surrounding area has been fantastic. Seeing the restaurant busy, the bar full of atmosphere, and so many happy faces walking through the doors has meant a lot to the whole team.
Whether guests have joined us for a special meal, drinks with friends, a family get-together or a special occasion, it’s been great to become part of so many occasions already.

A New Home with History
The Bourne is proudly based in the former Barclays Bank building in the centre of the village.
It’s a site full of character, and while the space has been completely reimagined, we’ve made sure to keep some of its history alive. One of our favourite features is the original bank safe, which remains as a unique nod to the building’s past.
Inside, the feel is stylish, relaxed and welcoming, somewhere you can settle in and enjoy yourself.
Food at the Heart of It
The grill is central to what we do. Our meat is supplied locally by Boxley’s of Wombourne, including quality grass-fed British beef. Fresh fish is sourced from Brixham through
our trusted local supplier, while our wine list has been selected with local merchant Tanners to complement the menu perfectly.
From premium steaks and seafood to burgers, lighter dishes and seasonal specials, the focus is simple: quality ingredients and proper cooking.

Sundays at The Bourne
If you haven’t joined us on a Sunday yet, now’s the time.
Our Sunday roasts have quickly become a favourite, with quality cuts, crisp roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, rich gravy and all the trimmings done exactly as they should be.
Perfect for family lunches, catch-ups with friends or an easy Sunday afternoon with a glass of red.

Summer on the Terrace
With brighter days on the way, we’re already looking ahead to summer.
Our terrace will be the place for after-work drinks, weekend lunches and evening cocktails in the sunshine.
Keep your eyes peeled for our al fresco dining menu, launching soon for those long-awaited summer days and lighter nights. Expect fresh seasonal dishes, lighter tapas-style plates and premium bar snacks with a Bourne twist- plenty worth ordering with a chilled drink in hand.

Join us soon
If you’ve already visited us, thank you for the support.
If you haven’t yet, we’d love to welcome you soon.
Bookings remain strong, especially Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, so we’d always recommend booking ahead or checking availability online.
This is only the beginning for The Bourne – and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.
